What is Dansekapellet

An introduction to the house and the mission and vision that guide its activities

Dansekapellet is dedicated to presenting and developing contemporary dance and urban dance as art forms, as well as nurturing and strengthening young talents in dance and choreography. We aim to spread awareness of and joy for dance within the local community.

Here, you can experience performances by both Danish and international choreographers and companies. We also participate in international co-productions and collaborative projects with the goal of developing and promoting dance.

Purpose

Dansekapellet is an open space for communities – welcoming everyone with a desire to experience and engage in dance.
Dansekapellet supports the entire dance ecosystem – from young children to professional performing artists – regardless of experience, background, or life circumstances.
Rooted in Bispebjerg and the Nordvest district, Dansekapellet offers dance activities targeted at children, youth, and adults in the local community.
Dansekapellet has a particular focus on supporting emerging artists and those who exist outside the established performing arts scene and networks.
