This year, we have added an extra prize and an additional show.
As a participant, you must be able to attend on the following dates:
January 31, 2026: Information meeting and choreographic workshop
February 21, 2026: First coaching session
March 2, 2026: Lighting design workshop
March 8, 2026: Second coaching session
The Choreography Competition 2026 will take place on March 21 at 7:00 PM and March 22, 2026.
Since 2008, the Choreography Competition has been an annual event taking place each spring at Dansekapellet.
As part of Dansekapellet’s commitment to talent development, the competition is held every year for young choreographers aged 15–24.
Solo performers, duets, and groups within both contemporary and urban dance styles are welcome to participate.
Throughout the process, participants receive coaching from professional choreographers and take part in workshops. They also have the opportunity to collaborate with Dansekapellet’s lighting designer, Peter Løkke, before presenting their choreography to an audience and a professional jury.
